Over flowing with ambition and inventiveness Edward Sayers is an all Canadian singer/songwriter who creates innovative rock music. Blending folk, blues, country with rock and roll structure, Edward’s music is often compared to, Neil Young and Jack White. His rural upbringing shines through in his soulful voice and twang tinged guitar playing.  Lyrically Edward tells compelling stories and finds a way to say what we’re are all thinking but can’t say. Musically Edward is constantly creating songs that push his own boundaries and blend musical styles from all over the world.

Edward performs both solo and with his backing band;Nic Prabaharan on drums Weasley Collet-Taylor on bass and Jeremy Bolzon on guitar and trombone. Staring deep into the eyes of the crowd, while stomping his feet in time, Edward’s live shows are captivating and energetic. Performing original music since he was a child, Edward shines behind a microphone and his guitar.
Edward has played extensively in Toronto strumming his way through venues like Sneeky Dee’s and Lee’s Palace. No stranger to playing long shows, in 2015 Edward held a residency at The Corner House in Toronto’s east end where he performed 4 hours of original music weekly. Edward has toured Canada’s east coast on several occasions picking in cities like Halifax and Charlottetown. Steadily performing across Ontario both solo and with his backing band, Edward is now based out of Toronto.

In January 2014, Edward released his debut EP “Pax Romana”. The thoughtful lyrics of Pax Romana tell stories of life, death, love and hate, as with the tune “Kathleen” which sings of a prostitute’s misfortune. Edward’s lyrics leave room for everyone to put themselves in the shoes of the Characters. Musically the EP is Edward’s most folky work featuring a blistering banjo on “Tundra, Tundra” and gleaming organ on the title track, “Pax Romana”. Nearly all instruments were played by Edward and all music was entirely Edward’s own.
Edward’s first full Length album “Underdog Overlord” is set to be released November 23rd, 2017. The album is dynamic in genre and style with every song taking you to a different side of Sayers’s music. Featuring songs like “Eventide” and “Rose” Edward’s first album is filled with layered lyrics, bold guitar playing and Edward’s passionate voice.
Seeing the world, connecting with people and writing music that has integrity and charm are Edward Sayers’s goals. Always working, Edward has an infinite amount of material waiting to be heard.
